I had changed battery in both keys same time. Energizer batteries. One worked with good range and the other not. The one that doesnt work with range gives a dash warning that battery is low. The SP oils are formulated to remove the #1 LSPI contributor, Calcium used as a detergent, and are not made in all the previous grades. Evidently there is a revised part that corrects the problem. Mine has not been a problem, so I have not needed to replace it. The sensor is easy to get to and replace and isn't expensive (around $25).
